That focus is superb. The earthy tones of the background and the mushrooms really sit well with the subject. |

Snarky is just too cute for words.
Such personality, such a wardrobe, such a setting!

LOL! Trippin. He-he.
Ok - Done with the kidding and ha-ha's. This is a GREAT shot Ken. Spot on with the focus and clarity, well positioned subject and actually quite interesting (fella?) considering it's a slimy thing.
Thanks for sharing what would have been a front page shot in October's FS! |

I'm not sure how I missed this one in the thread. But I have to say. I might have kept this one for a FS entry, or added a cape to him with an S on his chest! This shows alot of great qualities. Nice soft lighting, almost softbox or umbrella high and to camera left. Or a great job of directional bounce. Its very nice with shadows to show texture, both on Snarky and the fungi. This is a 10 in my book. Very nice Art. |

Such a mild, unprepossessing fellow - nicely balanced abstract, fits in well with the surroundings. |

Yeah, it was too dark outside so I got a shovel and scooped up the whole muchroom patch, threw it in a shallow cardboard box and brought it into my office. |

Hey, it's Snarky! I think I like this one better than his first appearance. He seems to have accomplished such a great task by climbing to the top of the mushroom! The lines from the mushrooms are cool too. The one thing that I find odd is the coloring... it's almost like it was taken in the office under the fluorescent lighting or something? |

I like the underside of the fungi especially the soft textures and color tones..... Another excellent macro from you mate. Great detail of the snail/slug, and I agree, this is a clear image of the slug, and yes, he may be tripping.....
Fungi tripping fever..... |

Oh, I love this one. I see Snarky does have eyes. He must have been sleeping before, or maybe he blinked. I like this composition and the mushrooms. It's interesting to see the size of the world from his point of view. Beautiful DOF and focus.
e.t.a.: Snarky looks so cute here (who could ever imaging a cute slug?), that I think you have the beginnings of a good children's storybook.

love this ken .. love the way he stands out from the surroundings by being so incredibly well focused .. the slimey look helps too .. i dont see how snails can actually trip seeing they dont have any legs ... lol .. just thought i'd give you a dose of lame in case you were hangin' out ..
i reckon you could do wonders with this trippin snail in an expert edit re my pm .. you know, a woody or two, maybe a well placed skeleton, and possibly a young and extremely photogenic little boy all combined with a snail .. the mind boggles .. well, mine does a lot ..
hope you have a great weekend .. :) |
