Great capture, but count me as another one who would have liked to see the focus a little more forward. |

The colourful bee stands out nicely on the dull (but textured) wood. |

Big burly bumblebee! Nice detail! Maybe a little wider DoF to get more of it. But a great shot! |

excellent shot greg .. you've nailed the focus and his beautiful colouring .. he/she is very attractive .. a lot different from those boring honey bees .. he's not looking too spry tho, i hope he wasnt dying .. :)

I like how the wood grain is such an interesting texture, but how the muted color lets the bee still stand out. It's nice to see a bee someplace other than a flower for a change. Cool shot. |

Interesting looking wood grain. The detail in the focal plane (look at the next to last "leg"!) is great. Were you using a tripod, or handheld? Hard to keep those moving subjects in the right place at times isn't it. :-) |

Oh lovely shot!
I do agree with MattO though, just a shade more towards the front on the focus would have been awesome.
Very interesting setting. |

Interesting looking fellow. I like the little blue patch on his back. I wish the focus was just a touch more forward so his eye would also be in focus intstead of being just ever so slightly out of the focal plain. Good detailed shot showing all the little hairs. |
