Now THIS has to be, by far, my most favorite insect macro on this entire site. (and i'm very picky!) Granted, spiders are arthropods, but...

This definitely deserves a ribbon. Compositionally amazing, tone, subject, focus, appeal, contrast, balance, derived symmetry. 10 A+ .. I love this.

Spiders scare the crap out of me, but this is so well taken I won't count that against you:) Only suggestion would be to crop some of the bottom out of this. 8

Very good shot! Detail is excellent!!! The transparency of it's legs is so cool. Heck, you're going up from 9 to 10 (it's the best I can do!!) Swash

Just because your house is infested with spiders does not mean you have to submit them.

Very well done. I hope you aren't hearing it about DOF or focus. It's a terrific shot IMO. If you are getting those comments a lot, I'm sure it's from people who haven't done a lot of macros, especially not without much light, because that's tricky enough. Marvelous shot. This would've been a great neg space shot. - Inspzil -9

Very nice color .. my eye is a little botherd by the back part ... but it's nice as it is. I do not think it would have been better with cropping. dramatic effect : medium. 7 lionel

Good shot! Can even see the web. Would like to see other angles of the spider also. Unique. Points for uniqueness.
