| Where is the rust? I must give a low score for the lack of rust. Technically, the focus seems a bit soft throughout the picture, especially in the foreground at the lower right. |

I take it the rings are rusted. That is not at all clear to me. I would also like to have had enough depth of field that the lines on the pages were in full focus. Actually it is hard to tell where the point of focus is.

| I'm really gonna have to say that I don't see the rust in this image that was submitted to the Rust Challenge. I may be overlooking something, but I'm pretty sure I studied this well. It's a nice photo of a notebook, and I think it would do well in a notebook challenge. The focus and clarity are good, and the angle is very interesting. But as a photo of rust, it is not so good. ~Heather~ |

| There is nothing rusted. The focus is on the upper left rings of the notebook. Is that what you want us to look at? Why? |

| Unless the scribblings on the page relate to the rust process, I don't see how this meets the challenge. Also, the DOF being on the top left and going out of the page, also takes my eyes out of the photo. |

| This doesn't fit the challenge for me. More depth of field would help it to be more in focus. I'd also like to see the levels adjusted to see whites and blacks rather than greys. |
