I did not do any advanced editing on this photo, this is my first entry. I did crop the photo. I intentionally left the eyes red as I thought it gave the owl a more demonic appearance, with the "stern" look on his face (from a mouse's perspective). The owl's feathers almost look painted (brush stroked), below his neck, which I though brought your focus up to his face and then to his expression.

I've never seen an owl with 'red-eye'. See if you can get this same bird without flash the next time.

Great expression but those red reflections are off-putting to me. Personally, I always fix them with a red-eye tool or desaturation or something to get them to look natural.

Neat shot, I would have tried to clean it up more since it is advanced editing.

Aaargh - a vampire Eagle Owl . . be afraid, be very afraid !!

:- )

A lovely looking Owl, and with some more post processing he could look even more lovely :- )

Heh!! He certainly seems to be rather stern, doesn't he? (Or she. I'm clueless as to owl genders.) Not sure why the eyes are red - flash, maybe? - but that could be fixed in post processing to make them a bit darker.

good subject, but the use of a flash or similar form of light hasn't done much for this shot.

Not a bad composition, but the red eyes and the grain are distracting.
