awwww, how cute .. we get these little guys in the grass especially after the rain .. i cant believe you only got 5.9 for this brilliant shot .. its worth heaps more just for the fact that you've got an amazingly well trained frog .. and here's me thinking they're not that bright .. !!

For this thread: //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=842215

I'm glad you centered it. There's a disturbing trend at DPC to put subjects off-center against blank backgrounds. By doing so, you make emptiness part of the composition. One should only do this if the subject is somehow interacting with emptiness, which is rarely the case.

Most of the pleasure of this image comes from thinking, "wow, that must have been hard to do." After all, the frog is perfectly positioned, the details are good and sharp except for the back tire area. This sort of technical expertise is good enough for 5.9 and in general competes well in a challenge, when people are thinking in terms of effort. Outside of a challenge, however, people will be wanting more. They'll wonder why there's no background to complete the illusion of frog on a motorcycle. They might even start thinking about why a frog would ride a motorcycle, or how a frog might feel while riding a motorcycle. A background could go a long way toward giving viewers something to think about.

I'm guessing this is from Aimeethetoo or possibly Liberty. Nice biker frog. There must not be helmet laws where you live.

I don't want to cherry pick votes this late in the game, so I am not votin on this entry, but I did want to finish handing out the first set of my new "shoehorn awards", to recognize humor and weird stuff. Enjoy! Show it off to your friends! Print it out and pin it up in your bathroom! Retract in horror at getting such a dumb award!

Croaker revved the engine.

All his life he'd been told that he could never ride. That he could never live his dream. He was a frog, they'd say. His brain was the size of a pea, they'd say. He belonged in the swamp, they'd say.

Then came that day. That fateful day. He'd wandered from his lily pad in search of a crazy fly that had pestered him, into territory he'd never been in before. He'd gotten lost, and was close to panicking when he'd come across it. It. His Dream.

With a whoop and a cry, he lifted the abandoned cycle out of the dirt. Would it run? Did it work? Before he knew he was holding his breath, he pressed the starter, and it roared to life. His breath returned to him in an echoing croak of joy.

A few hours later, when he roared back home, his legend was born.

Fun shot and very well set up. It must have taken quite a number of attempts to get the right shot I would imagine. How did the frog handle it all?

Great shot. Come on and take a free ride. It would be nice if you could clone out the stand, but I'm not sure if that's legal.

Haha this made me laugh out loud, classic. Love the colours and the sharpness is great. Was it hard to get him to stay there? He looks like he's quite enjoying himself!
