Challenge: Light Source (Classic Editing)
Camera: Canon PowerShot S30
Location: Den

Aperture: 5.0
ISO: 50
Shutter: 4
Date Uploaded: Oct 20, 2002

Was shopping at the local market for bread and stuff when I spied a blacklight bulb on the shelf... I just had to give it a try.

The initial blacklight effect did not come out as I expected. It was rather pale and uninteresting. So I started fiddling with the white balance on the camera (set it to custom and adjusted for the blacklight). Finally got this effect after I tried "developing" the RAW file using the "Tungsten" setting.

I really like the subject of this photo. The hue is cool, but I think a grey or copper would've been my personal choice. Great framing and I like the angle of the shot too. Well done - Inspzil

Its a drill, made to look like a section of pipeline or some huge machine. This is what the challenge was all about. Good job.

Cool perspective. I like the color and you did a nice job with the lighting. I like when the subject fades into the bg. The subject just doesn't do a lot for me. Great technically, very good at meeting challenge....I couldnt come up with a good subject either ;oP ~indi
