 I shot this while driving my kids to school on a splendid cool fall morning with my little P&S. The light was outstanding, the colors remarkable, and the fog floating on the reservoir in Groton, CT.

Editing:
Opened in Elements 6
Adjusted levels, Hue/Saturation, Curves, performed noise ninja to smooth water and sharpen trees. Minor dodge and burn and sponge to bring out details. Cropped. Very minor cloning to remove edges of branches along edge of photo in lower right. Save for web, opened and noise ninja and selective colors to increase hue/saturation of reds etc.

A Beautiful shot- quiet, peaceful, great fall colors which are soon to be gone, and most of all the mist rising off the lake makes this!!

love the fog!

eta: I've driven by this spot countless times, sometimes with fog there. And I've never had my camera with me! Nice lighting, too! BTW, this was my 1000th comment, too.

The mist works perfect here. The reflection of the fall colors makes this photo great.

Wow, this is Price Lake off the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of my favorite spots anywhere. Great capture and lovely composition!
