 Natural light; PP included sharpening with High Pass filter, muting color, dark vignette, some dodge & burn.

Post Challenge: OK, on this one I'll admit I expected a higher score. I thought of this idea as soon as the contest was announced, and the only thing I was worried about was that voters would be able to tell it's a doll baby, not a real baby. No one commented on that, but obviously there were other issues .... that's OK I'm not the least bit discouraged. :)

I liked this shot... I could tell that it was a doll. The PP is wonderful. I don't know why it didn't score higher. *sigh* I never understand.

Joanne, am commenting from this thread. Yes, you are correct and I agree this should have scored higher! First off the exposure is top notch as is the focus and I love the bg. Technically this is a perfect shot so am thinking you may have been marked down as a 'set up' shot which of course it was, I'll never understand the dpc voters either ;)

Did you tie a thread around babies leg for the shot? A seven from me during voting btw.

Aw, poor baby! I think the darkness around the edges, whether done with the natural lighting or added during editing, work well in this pic (I'm not usually a fan).
