I got the idea for this when recently going through some of my father-in-laws old film negatives. It shows house they used to live in which in time became abandoned and was eventually demolished.

Thanks for the comments, they’re very helpful.

My in-laws, who lived in the house when they were a young married couple, were so thrilled with the way the image turned out, they want a print of it. That alone made the whole thing worth while ;-)

Great image, but a titular shoehorn.

Great idea. I like the composition, with the curl of the negative. The diagonal relection thing detracts from the effect and goes right through you only subject.

Great shot. The film itself is a symbol of abandonment.9

Very artsy look to this shot. I like it. But, without the title, I'd not have gotten "abandoned" from it???

Beautiful tones to bring up the negative. A touch more reflection would have been awesome.

great idea but does not convey "abandoned" in a strong way... although I do understand that the text tells me that the house might have been abandoned. 6

Wonderfully creative and executed. I like the faint reflection of the strip on the surface. Subtle & classy. 8

Interesting take on the challenge. I wish there was a bit more depth of field here, so that the full frame would be in sharp focus.

However, I think you did a great job of capturing most of the detail on the frame, and the film strip really pops against the nice velvety black background. Very nice work!

Cool idea for a shot, definitely different than everything else!
