One of my objectives for the day was to take down the hummingbird feeders to clean and pack away for the winter. My plans were thwarted when I discovered them covered with honeybees. I took several images from the porch with a screen separating me from the bees. This image I took from the landing. The bulk of the bees scurried around the other side of the feeder, adding enough weight to tip it slightly. I will try again tomorrow morning - hopefully I can get up early enough to get out there before it warms up. It's been unusually warm for the past few days.

My hummingbird feeder looks very similar. I like how you caught the one bee in flight.

Very cool - love the very closeup. Makes me want to draw back from the bees.

The bees have been pretty active around here this fall but nothing like this. Thanks for reminding me to take in my feeder.

sharing the wealth..wonder how the hummers would react if they got there for a drink and found this crowd! now that would be a picture!

the exposure seems spot on

I'll just let the bee scientists know to go to your house. LOL! I know what you mean though, I didn't have any bees around this summer at all, and none of my flowers bloomed.

yes .. bees are good .. so many insects that ppl abhor are necessary for our survival .. without bees some plants wouldnt be pollinated and so many foods would be unavailable ... anyway hope your bees find somewhere else to feed during your winter . :)

The focus is pretty good considering you were shooting through a screen. You're braver than I, I wouldn't have been anywhere near them, screen or not!

Nice shot of the bees Patsy - hope they find some nice flowers so you can clean up tomorrow.
