We're going to be out of town next Tuesday on election day. We went today to the courthouse to cast our "early votes". We arrived about 1.5 hours after voting opened and were told that the wait was 3 1/2 hours. We had to surrender our driver's licenses and spend time in town until it was our turn to vote. I don't want to rant too much about them keep the driver's license, but it's completely unnecessary. We ended up coming back and then waiting a bit to vote. Total time was about 3.5 hours.

I really like all the detail in the bricks. I can't believe you had to wait 3 1/2 hrs & had to let them hold your license until you voted!

I always enjoy looking at old architecture. It sounds like I enjoyed looking at your pic more than you enjoyed your voting experience!

Fantastic detail in the brickwork Ken - looks like a grand old building.

Can't believe what you had to go through to vote early - here, as long as you register as a postal voter, you get the forms in the mail, fill them out, get a witness to verify you signature and post them away - done!

Excellent perspective here. and I like the composition very much, as it shows us the detail of the building, and also the wonderful colors and textures of the bricks.....

Pretty cool building. They aren't made like that anymore. I like that glass enclosed staircase up there.

Great building. I like the lines of the roof, especially the dormers.

I can't understand the license business, but it is nice that you can reserve you spot in line and then leave to do other things. Here in Palm Beach Co., FL we have to stay in line and wait. They do give out tickets to people who can't physically do that, but someone in the line must hold the matching ticket. Our wait was 1.5 hours. They cut back on the number of early voting places, because of lost revenue this year.

Love the processing. WOnderful detail there! I wish we had some type of early voting here. My son's off on election day, so I'll have to drag him with me to vote.

ahh, the price of freedom...
in Vermont it's so easy, early ballots, mail them in or drop them off.

the details you captured in this old building are gorgeous! nice processing.

At least you got it over with :)
This such an interesting building - the details are outstanding along with the different angles captured. I love the color of the stones.

Beautiful clock tower! The detail in the stones and in the roof tiles is amazing.

I don't understand why they needed to keep your driver's license. Here, the early voting ended yesterday (Friday). We signed in and showed our driver's licenses, but they just looked at them and verified our signatures. They didn't even taken them from us. With so much identify theft, I would be very reluctant to leave my license. I think a complaint to the election officer is in order.

interesting building! I'd also rant about the drivers licence, I don't see the logic behind it!
