Yes that is how much light it takes to photograph dark unreflective rust. It is far too much for the rose whose beauty is lost in glare. If the rose could be in the shade and the rust in full sunlight, I think you could have a really nice photo, although I would place the container so it did not bisect the lower square pipe and the picture itself.

A 4.

This is a very nice capture. I just wish the rose and its leaves werent so burned in some areas.

Good idea. The light on the rose and the leaves is a little harsh and I think you could have improved the composition by not having the main subject so centralized.

What a shame you idn't offset the rose to leave space on the left. This would have been a cracking photo.

Simple, yet (very) effective. Good composition. I give it a 9

a little less brightness would have made the world of difference in this picture. gallery style(well done) but over exposed. In my opinion I would have cropped out the top part so the square was there as I find it very distracting.

Great rust color and texture. Think it would have been better without the flower.

the harsh lighting detracts from the possible elegance of this image. otherwise good subject.

I like it all except the overexposed rose petal

Some focussing / noise issues here?
Otherwise a great shot with impact

I look at this and just have to ask, "Why?"
