This old army/navy revolver was dug up some years ago by a friend of mine. I new it would come in handy someday. I wanted to try and show the 2 notches on the backstrap, in folk lore there was one notch filed into the gun for each man that it killed.
Taken in subdued light with on flood to provide the shadow, and hopefully a bit of mistery.

old war relics, would be neat to see a different background. the wooded frame is a bit dark and the gun doesnt have much dof.

Kind of interesting. Lighting is a little uneven.

The rust doesn't show well against the background.

could have been wider, capture the whole gun..

Cool object, but the dark baground competes too much with the subject which needs to stand out more for a quick read. The crop leaves me wishing to see the whole pistol.

very nice. a less conflicting background (white) would allow for the subject to be identified easier. I'm guessing it's nailed to a wall or something, though, and you cannot help that.

Backdrop does not properly frame or contrast with what is a superb subject.

the gun blends in too much, but nice

Love the idea, but I find it distracting that the barrel and grip are cut off.

shame this was wired to a dark background as it tends to "get lost" in the picture

A lighter background maybe would help ...

If you place a gun on the wall ...... someone will use it. (paraphrased....) Kafka

colors, shades of color, textures are all good, meets challenge but the white spots are a real distraction

should be on a better background to make it pop up...because it is so beautiful !

I think a different view on a different background would of given this a good score. Here we see dark on dark and the barrel is cut off.

Something isn't quite right with the lighting. Could also use a little sharpening. Neat relic!

Great colors. Lighting works well. I like yhe diagonal of the composition but would like to see more of the gun on the left side.
