I thought of this right when I saw the challenge!! I am pretty happy with the way it came out... The background is actually nothing... Late night dark sky! Great for a black background.

Hello from Critique Club :)

Nice sharp image with little over exposed white areas at the end of the balloon. It probably exposed little wrong and probably some work done to fix it. I might be way off, but this photo looks like 1-good imagination 2-bad execution of the imagination.

Too much dark area on your photo, you should not have the tied end of the balloon right on the middle of the frame. Talking about the frame, if you did have a thin red frame with this photo, it would look much better. Try to see it bit more cropped, and next time try to give a bit softer light, I think there is a flash or something used that's shining too much on tip of the balloon.

Keep on clicking, you will get there, I have no doubt :)

A couple people hit on this, but as your photo is right now, the balloon is sinking. Flip your image vertically and suddenly your balloon takes off!

It's an outie! Or ... uh, nevermind. I have to say this is the first time I've ever seen this composition.

This could be just a balloon filled with air. Maybe a different orientation and a string would help? Sorry, I know this didn't help.

not exactly what i'd call the most exciting photo here, but it does get the message across. not sure exactly what its missing, it just isn;t really grabbing me

There's been a few balloon pictures. I don't care to look at them and yours is no different. But you have shown some creativity by leaving some negative space (a good thing) and a crop that I don't think could get any better. It was also a good idea to leave the knot in the middle.
The red against a black background is good. But otherwise it is really not a good artistic photo.

Well, what can I say here? It's a challenge fitter, but, can't say much about the "depth" of meaning to this shot. *smile* I thinketh that you may be a bit fed up or just didn't have any other ideas???? *smile*

Too many people followed this and the aluminum theme. Good color and exposure but the concept doesn't stand out.

would be better with a floating balloon so we didnt need a title to know you met the challenge.

I've already seen three red helium balloons! Good execution.
