I was hoping to find a cool old car to fit the concept of using chromium as my element. Chrome plating, often referred to simply as chrome, is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object.
I found this late 1950s/ early 1960s vintage AMC Ambassador outside our favorite sugar house up in Putney Vermont. I think it is very telling that the painted surfaces have all decayed, but the chromium plated bumper and grill are all still bright and shiny.
I hope folks don't treat this as DMNC - but I never can tell with shots like this....
Editing: Opened RAW image, adjusted clarity, saturation, vibrance, WB, and exposure prior to RAW conversion. As JPEG: Hue/Saturation, Curves, Noise Ninja, Dodge and burn, minor clone of garbage in lower left and dodged out corner of cart wheel in upper left, USM at large radius for contrast, save for web. Adjustment of hue/saturation and selective colors levels post resize and USM at small radius, added horizontal border to provide more contrast to image and accentuate the grill. |

Very nice lighting against all the texture you've captured and maintained. |

It took me awhile before I began to like this picture, but in the end I think it's a very interesting capture and I like the way it's composed. Best of luck. |

i would have cropped less off the top. those trees in the background look really good with the rust, the same color and texture. might have been nice to include more of them |

One of the betters ones so far after voting 29%. Very creative and on target. Good colors and an interesting subject. I do not at all care for that border on this particular image though. |
