I went seeking out "RED" in Vermont this weekend. I tried barns and leaves, berries and all, but nothing really worked for me. I was coming back from Quechee after shooting and happened on this old covered bridge. This bridge crosses the White River at Taftsville between Quechee and Woodstock. There is a dam with falls up river of here but it is very hard to get a good angle to a shot of the falls and the bridge.
Editing: Global djustments exposure, w/b, clarity, saturation, vibrancy, and sharpness prior to RAW conversion. Crop, hue/saturation, shadow/highlight, selective colors, USM, noise ninja and curves as JPEG. Resized for web, adjusted hue/sat and selective colors post resize.
Thanks for the comments during voting. It seems that most people considered this one overprocessed and likley not "Red" enough. I should have gone with my boring studio apple shot instead...
But this one does look very nice on the wall in my home! |

Pete, very nice composition for this setting. I know that getting a good angle at this bridge is a challenge in itself. If you didn't mentioned where it was I wouldn't have guessed that it was the Taftsville bridge. I hope you cloned out the power lines for the copy on your wall :-)

| Interesting photo. Good use of the color red, but the lake is distracting and the photo isn't level which gives it a lop sidded feeling. |
