Really over-ripe pealed garlic! (a touch of dye added to bring out the texture)

Partial desat and tweak exposure in DPP. Crop, Curves, B&W and brightness/contrast in PS. Followed by the usual resize and USM.

The shininess referred to in the comments isn't the dye, but the liquid oozing out of the garlic!

This is a very cool image! I never would've guessed garlic, reminded me of brains right off :-) Wonderful detail, I don't get the low score on this one...

A stumper, so meets the challenge. Looks like a horror movie monster. Interesting but not to a broad popular taste I fear.

A walnut?

Interesting photo. The reflection is a tad distracting. Play with the lighting and see if you could get some more texture out of the right side of the object. Nice use of B&W with a hint of sepia.

Kind of looks like an old rotten pumpkin... I'm guessing that's why it's B&W, otherwise it'd be too obvious.
