 I have a view of this Star Magnolia tree from the window near my computer and happened to look up and see that the buds were all glowing from being backlit by the afternoon sun. So I stuck the 20mm extension tube on the camera and took a couple of shots. Really like the rich background colors in this one and the curve of the branch as it comes towards the camera. Not a spectacular shot and I may get dinged for blowing out a bit of my highlights so not expecting a great score.

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, white balance, increased saturation and contrast, decreased saturation on yellow-green to bring the bud out more, reduced gamma, resized, sharpened.

wow this actually does look like a mitten. It might have been a good idea to get closer and take it from a different angle.
