this got a 7 from me, looks more like an 8 today though. i like how the trees fade to nothing, makes the veiwer have to think about it longer. beatuiful red leaves/flowers on the ground, the were captured nicely. adds that perfect bit of 'oomf' |

quite haunting...love the rich colours at the bottom and how everything seems to disappear... |

Those leaves or petals - whatever they are (the touch of pinkish red) takes this shot from spectacular to ingenious! Way to go!! 10 |

Love it. The reds look a little over-saturated, but very cool nonetheless. 9. |

I like this one a lot. I see this BIG, hanging in a great room or tall foyer. Good stuff. Hope it scores well for you. |

Oh wow! I can't put my finger on why I like this so much, but it really is nice! I actually would like it more without the red and green foreground, but a 10 nonetheless. |

Very cool, this feels like the end of the world to me, no leaves in sight. |

I wonder how this looks with less contrast and saturation.

The blown out sky really adds great impact to this image. Nice Job. 8 |

A really interesting photograph. The fallen red leaves bring blood to mind - almost as though the trees are dying. Not being very articulate, I shall leave it as 'a photo with impact'. Strong work. |

Very cool, but the sky looks more blown out by light than fog. 6 |

Interesting... It's either brilliant or a poor image. I can't decide.
But, you've gotten me to take time studying it.. .and that's the mark of a good image. (not voting yet) |

An hour into his hike, Peter stopped. Something was wrong. The gentle breeze that had softly played through the woods for the last couple of hours had died suddenly, leaving a cloying feel to the air. The sounds of the forest had likewise cut right off. It was as if he'd walked into an air-tight container, yet here he stood, surrounded by the trees and scrub.
What made him look up, he didn't know. Perhaps some change or movement or sixth sense, but look up he did. What he saw there shocked him so badly he could make no sound at all. He was frozen to the spot, his eyes locked onto what was happening in horror. What his eyes showed him reminded him of the time he had watched a city clean-up crew whitewash graffiti off a building wall in the park he was playing in as a child. A memory that stuck with him, as he watched what he had thought to be a beautiful painting being scrubbed away with white paint. It had saddened him at the time.
Now, so many years later, he watched not in sadness, but in horror. For it was happening again right in front of him. This time, it was not a graffiti mural, but the very world being scrubbed away. From the top down. As the white of nothingness descended towards him, wiping out the forest as if it were nothing, it seemed that the paralyzing fear finally broke and Peter let out a wailing scream.
Then all was erased. |
