This curvy little road, about 20 minutes driving from my home, came into my mind, after reading the subject for this months contest.

Thanks for all the ussefull comments. I do agree that the sky is too dull Just didn't have a very cloudly sky that week.

too much sky - not much impact

Looks like Kentucky. Nice leading framing.

Not much detail in the sky.

Too much sky, too little road.
04/12/2002 07:45:00 PM
For not being all that intersting, the sky is a bit too prevalent here. Still an excellent shot though.

too much sky?

Good idea and perspective. If it was ever possible during the challenge week, I would have tried for a day with more clouds in the sky, but I know the weather doesn't always obey your photographing needs :)

I think this might have more impact if you had famed it much lower, to emphasize the road and not the sky.
04/10/2002 11:50:00 AM
I think a different angle, like from a lower height, showing more of the ground and fence, rather than have so much sky.
04/10/2002 04:19:00 AM
Might have been better is the light was better, at sunset, or a blue shy.

not bad but doesn't do much for me. It does have curves and lots of repeating areas that are nice though.
04/09/2002 03:06:00 PM
I think you could have done with out all that sky. Looks a little out of focus...good idea. :)

This reminds me of my neck of the woods. Nice interpretation.

too much sky ...
04/09/2002 07:16:00 AM
I like this, very soft. I like it better cropped about an inch or so above the trees though. Just too much sky for me.
04/09/2002 05:30:00 AM
I wish this was a little more in focus - ie, what is that on the shoulder of the road? Looks like ridges made with a rake? or is it concrete?
04/08/2002 08:38:00 PM
I like the concept of this photo, but I think I would have liked to have seen more of the road and less of the sky.
04/08/2002 07:54:00 PM
interesting. would have been more blatabntly curvy looking if you had gotten higher up. stand up in the back of a pickup truck?
04/08/2002 04:45:00 PM
not quite sharp and way too much sky. You need to work on your 'thirds' - this pic has 50% sky and without loads of cloud detail your pic dies. The sky area should be no larger than 1/3rd of your image height in shots like this,
04/08/2002 03:04:00 PM
A nice curve, but perhaps if the shot had been taken from slightly lower down, the top half of the shot wouldn't feel so vacant.
04/08/2002 10:21:00 AM
This is a nice example of a road curve... I would like it more if the tree line was not splitting the center of the frame.
04/08/2002 09:51:00 AM
good idea
04/08/2002 07:15:00 AM
almost no composition; bad focus or perhaps just jpeg artifacts. Lack of tonal range not helping this one.
04/08/2002 01:28:00 AM
Do you have to much sky upstaging your subject?
04/08/2002 01:17:00 AM
Needs a lot of cropping to get rid of all the unused space in the sky.
