I swore I wasn't going to take anything for this challenge and then I was unpacking some holiday stuff and here was this shiny, starry ribbon and ... I know, I'm hopelessly addicted to the Update button ;-)
Played with the light and the position of the ribbon to get some cool starry shadows. Background is the solid blue back cover of a book. Light was coming in from the window, I had a desk lamp directly above the ribbon, and used the on-board flash dialed down several stops with a Puffer diffuser for a little fill light.
PP - converted from RAW, cloned out wee bit of table in upper left corner, shifted/colored blues to be more uniform, white balance, increased contrast, slight burn on shadows, healed/touched up a couple of spots, blurred background a little more, resized, sharpened with slight noise reduction. |

| lovely studio effort - the shadows created by the ribbon really improves the overall appeal of the image to me - i just wish the top star and edge of the ribbon were not blown |

| I really like your idea, so I hope you don't mind a touch of criticism. I think you should have cropped out the distracting gold star at the top. If you hold your hand over the top the lighting seems so much more subtle. Good luck. |

| there is one little star in the upper left of the ribbon thats blown out a little bit, and thats the only thing distracting me. other then that, i like the choice of background and color. |
