i would like to type here what i "see" when i took the photo, but frankly, i'd prefer to read what you, the viewer has to say, and perhaps tell me what you see when you view this photo. from some of the comments i received, i understand that due to (assumed) the majority of people on the site to be Westerners, they would not know what the subject of my photo is(different cultures), i tried to help with a direct photo title telling viewers what the subject is, but i guess it wasnt really working? :) sorry about not remembering the shutter speed - wasnt paying attention to my camera settings when shot was taken.

This has a stillness to it that is so very compelling. I find myself staring and staring, waiting for the puppet to spring to life. Is it after a show, or before... ? The atmosphere you captured here is magnificent. I'm happy for you that you were acknowledged by a Posthumous Blue.

Well, a posthumous blue! How cool is that?? This is that kind of image after all. Not eye candy, but has all the elements to please those who look beyond the surface. Well done.

I love the world of shadows, where puppets live without masters. I love to see a window latch reaching for freedom.

There are pictures that make you want to live in their world. Then there are pictures that show you the world you've been living in all your life but hadn't seen yet. Those are the ones that get blue ribbons.

Posthumous Blue Ribbon.

I like the tones, but I wish the subject was easier to identify.

If I could figure out what I'm looking at, I would find it easier to score. Nice high-contrast image.

Rather unexpected and daring subject amongst a FS-challenge, I appreciate how a few elements admirably composed are evoking a whole story.
Perfect exposure, emphasizing just what was needed.
Nitpicking though: the crop is a bit tight on left side (I assume it's not actually a crop, but that your lens wasn't wide enough)

I like the sepia. I'm not sure what to make of this photo, though.
