Nicely shot. I like the DOF and intricate details captured on the foreground dandelion. Well done. The border is appropriate for this shot and helps to support the composition.

beautiful image, well done.

Beautiful photograph... I really like how the back one is in focus, not the front!

one of my ribbon picks this challenge (not sure I get the title but I do like the way you used dof to connect me to the theme.)

A thinner border would have improved the composition a bit

Wonderful concept. I love the subject and the way you have captured it. Well done.

I'm guessing the opposite is one compared to a group? Nice idea but the execution of the shot leaves me wanting more contrast and a little better composition overall. Maybe the full one in the shot as a whole would help? The DOF works for this shot but also maybe if the background dandylion was just a bit closer, not quite a fuzzy? A 3

Beautiful. Lovely focus. The choice of colour is really nice. 8

Wow! This one really stands out from the crowd. I like the depth of field, and the clarity is fantastic. Nice job - I hope this does well!

good idea, well done

Brilliant. This says 'alone' opposed to 'in a crowd' to me. Totally impressed by the clarity and focus of that single seed against the unfocused crowded seed head.

Really cool photo... good job!

Very nice image. I like the composition and the light. The choice of focus also works very well here.

I'm not really a fan of square crops or borders, BUT this really is an exception for me. I love the composition, DOF, exposure, even the desaturation. It really all works together very well. 8

Very good, nice find 7

Fantastic photo. Like how you got the one seed of the dandelion all by itself like that. 8

Oh, I wish this had been an "aliens from without" challenge. The Righthand half of your image would have taken the Blue for sure! Super photography (but) the reference is a bit obscure for Opposites. Nevertheless, I'm very glad to have seen this image! Good one.

Terrific, gets top spot from me.
My only comment would be that the back seedhead is a little too soft for me. I'd like to see it just a tad sharper, and I'd like a slightly bluer and brighter light. These are personal preferences and don't detract from a beautiful image. Congrats

nice composition, and great detail on the foreground stem.
05/12/2004 03:57:38 AM
i really like this, but maybe even more if both the big one and little one were in focus together
