Very nicely seen and photographed. The colors are nice and rich all the way through. I think what helps this location work so well is the interesting foreground combined with a lovely view for the background. You have the eye to bring out the best of both in a variety of combinations. |

I was going to say almost exactly the same thing until I scrolled down and saw this comment. I'm not quite so concerned about the dark trunk though -- you have a lot of woody detail in the long branches, and sometimes a fill flash can be a little too much, but worth taking a secons exposure. If you have a tripod, try two identical shots with different exposures and try stacking/blending them to use the best parts of each. |

there is something about this that just grabs me--probably the wide angle. i'm a sucker for wide angle! awesome shot, very nice capture. |

lose the frame or have it just black, the white does nothing for this image. A bit of a crop on the left size might have mfor a more pleasing image...The rocks and tree against this great expanse of background are enought and the bit of green sitcking out in the middle of the horizon is very distracting. A fine image none the less and on I like very much. Great shot for your first mountain trip. |

Great perspective! Color fringing (from sharpening?) is a little distracting, and I wish I could see more of the foliage on the left, to balance the log on the right, but still an excellent shot. |

The dark shadow on the old tree kills the vibrant colors of the scene. |

Composition is great! Some chromatic aberration on tree branches, not easily corrected. Good score from me! |

A few things upset what for me would otherwise be a wonderful shot. I think tere's too much going on - tree. stones, sky, and somehow you haven't brought those elements together compositionally. The line of rocks doesn't work with the shape of tree in any harmonious way. The extraneous greenery in the left of frame might confortably have been lost, andd I also think that that dead tree is too closely cropped in shot - I feel that a little more distance would have kept it in the foreground, and used it as a compositional element to draw the middle distance roacks and the far horizon together. In landscape, many of the most useful compositional ideas come from simple geometric patterns - curves, circles, triangles (especially the latter) - shapes that the eye has a natural inclination to follow. |

The texutres in the tree and the dotted shadows on the landscape make this a very interesting study. Nice work. 8 danny |

Very nice photograph, took this at the perfect time, the clouds do very well for the picture....don't think it would have been as good a photograph on a clear day. Nicely done. |

Interesting photo and use of the close-up limb. The whole shot seems a little fuzzy or pixelated somehow. Good color, lighting and composition. |

Excellent composition but the overall feel seems over-processed. Maybe it was over sharpened or compressed too much and, as a result, some details were lost (grass looks blurry and textures seem bland on the surface of the tree). |

Nice scene, but over saturated. You can see noise coming out because of excessive saturation. Tone it down a bit next time. |

Excellent composition! It's oversharpened a bit as you can see from the edges of the log and there are some halos around the small branch coming out on the right. I gave you a 7 anyway because it's just so interesting to look at. |
