My dad, George "Two Hawks" , has been creating replicas of Crow artifacts since he was a boy. He took off some years after we children came along, but started back up about 35 years ago. He has such a tremendous collection and his craftsmanship is incredible. So, when the opportunity came to showcase some of his work for the Granite School District, I volunteered his work.

This image is just a taste of the exhibit being held at the GEC (Granite Education Center) in Salt Lake City.

At first I thought to myself how this was an interesting collection of "things" until I realized what it is. Background works great to support your subject, with just the right amount of blur.

Way cool. A million road and sea and cultural miles away, thanks for sharing.

What the heck? Crow artifacts? I don't understand what that is? Cultural thing? (I'm from South Africa...) This is very cool, nonetheless.

PAW - I like how the background has several other artifacts of interest, though the top hat and bright colored thing behind it seem out of place, and I think even moving the desk out of view would improve it. If it's an exhibit that may not have been possible. Something sticking out behind the right side of the subject is distracting also. Maybe changing the camera position would help these fit better or be hidden behind the subject (head dress?). A little more light on the front of the subject would be nice to bring out detail. This is definitely something to cherish for posterity.

I think a different angle would help this unique piece stand out more.
