| There are a bunch of rose and driftwood pictures in this challenge, but this is the standout one for me. Totally awesome! I would almost go so far as heresy and say I prefer this one to Ansel's :-) |

| Another nod to the Adams "detail" genre, and very nicely done. I'm a little offput by the peripheral lightening of the BG around the petals, it's quite artificial looking and *seems* more sloppy than intentional. In Ansel's work we never see this clumsiness of effect, the transitions are almost always seamless, subtle and organic in nature, even if the effect itself (when comparing to the "straight" contact print) might be extreme. |
