Interesting macro. I would have never thought of this. The background has just the right focus - give context, but doesn't distract.

I like the way you think. There is something not quite right about this pic, but I can't put my finger on it. Perhaps the blue cast? Try correcting the color/exposure, it might improve. Nice shot 8

a) On vs. off. b) Figure in focus vs. ground that's not. So, two opposites are apparent - yet neither cue is working to support/contrast the other.

Very creative. nice take on the challenge. I like what you've done with dof, however, I'm thinking this is such a simple yet bold image, maybe cropping out the majority of the background, really fill up the frame with the subject may have an even greater impact. good work.

Simplicity itself.....Is there any greater opposite than this On or Off? This photo is "ON" in my book....ahve a 9 coz it's not the most interesting photo on earth however.

Great idea for the challenge, but why is it all blue? Grey or sepia tones look like deliberate limiting of color, but this blue just looks like you didn't balance the color. Good composotion and focus.

Very clever. Like the colors and composition. The only thing that bothers me is the rectangular object in the BG....looks like a stick of deodorant.
