On camera flash doesn't help this image.
Try to ues a more imaginitive lighting setup. Either try to get your flash off your camera, or use window lighting or a reflector to make things more interesting and softer.Enter your comment here, and then cast your vote... |

The perspective is overwhelming and the lighting is too harsh. You should bounce your lighting off the wall or a reflector vs shooting straight on. |

Highlights are too blown for my taste. Focus is right on the eye, good job on that. |

A low perspective can be interesting in a pet portrait, but in general too close a view of nostrils is not visually pleasing to many people. Lighting is exceptionally bright and not flattering. On the plus side, it looks like maybe the dog was getting a chest rub, so at least the portrait session wasn't stressful for the model. |

Highlights detract from what would have been a nice shot. |

Its all out-of-focus nose. This doesn't work. |

If not for the harsh lighting this is a really great shot. I like the expression & slight tilt. |
