Another day, Another challenge.. :)

I saw this poor bee in my balcony, can't fly, struggling to move.
So I took a black piece of paper and put the bee on it, then put a 80W table lamp, pointed on it (it was almost night time), took some macro shots and chose this photo for the challenge.

Post-Processing: NeatImage, Cropping, Saturation of Yellows to -95 (to remove the table lamp effect and add more contrast for the bee), played with brightness & contrast a little, Unsharp Mask.
Then I wasn't totally satisfied with results so I did a little more desaturation of yllows.
then I gave this to heida to have a look and she adjusted it so it'll look better, THANKS heida :-)

Sorry for submitting bees, site is already full of those as I have noticed.
Also, I freed the bee afterwards, hope it'll live another day.

I hate to break it to you, but I don't think it's sleeping...........

Of all the cliche insect images in this challenge, yours stands out as brilliant and original. Well done!

I think it's dead. Nice photo though.

I would have liked to have seen more details here.

Well it's centered. A lot of unused space.

Shadows were a bit dark for me but nice idea.

The looooooong long sleep. :)

There isn't really enough in this image to get me excited... Maybe closer-up so the bee filled more of the frame. I think the background works nicely; It's interesting, but not overpowering.

it's not sleeping, is it? :)
that's what you call dead centre! Even the surrounding is working with you, cause it is curling around the bee..The DOF is just a little too small...I would have liked to see the bee more in focus, and maybe a bit (teeny) more light on it..but the sharpness is great!

Though color is good, the dark shadow makes it hard to make out detail in your too small subject.

Very nice, I think the light could have been just a tad better so that we could get more detail of the bee.
