Way out of my comfort zone here, both in set up and lighting. shot with camera-mounted flash and diffuser, played with levels to try to blow grey background, too much detail to really see the props that make the self image ... so, its destined for another sub-5 score. Becoming a whole new trend for me.

Yep, clothes don't make the man (certainly not in my case), but there was some thought that went into this set up. The outfit as a whole is typical of what I might wear on the weekends, and maybe even at work. The jeans are an old well-loved pair, as are the Birkies and the flannel (which I am wearing, at my office in a downtown skyscraper, even as I type this). Those old clothes, and the gloved peace sign, may reveal my political bent, and -- along with the old CSNY concert shirt, reveal me as an old, slightly too late child of the 60s and 70s wanna be hippie.
The concert shirt also hints at both my love of music, particularly of that era, and also my collection of Fillmore posters, which the design on that shirt is taken from.
The Rick Steves travel book signifies my love of travel, and our impending trip to Europe this summer. The Zagat guide reveals another of my passions -- food, both in restaurants and to cook. Its a San Francisco guide, of course, to signify where I live. The Giants cap also comes from home -- the baseball Giants, not the football ones. Its also a symbol of the time I spend rooting for my favorite teams ... and could've just as easily been the Golden State Warriors as the Giants. You can tell I'm no bandwagon fan that only hooks on with winning teams!
Oh, and the old 35mm Pentax around my neck, well do I have to spell EVERYTHING out for you? :-P

Okay, as far as these clothes shots are concerned, I'm not a big fan of any of them. I think that there is more to you than the jeans and t-shirt you favor, and I think that if you photographed something else it might portray more personality. Even if you just took one element of this photo and focused on the technicals, I think this would portray personality better. Just a sandal with great lighting on a beach or a sidewalk, just travel books, just the camera... there are so many elements with potential here and by trying to cram them all in to one shot I think the connection between your personality and the viewer is lost.
