 This is me taking a picture of my eye.
Obviously chose the Nikon 4500 for this one. Got as close as possible and then cropped the iris out.

Post-Processing:
NeatImage; desaturate; recolorize; cloned some eyelash reflections out; contrast enhancement; unsharpen; border.

PS: Ideally, there would be no DPC default border... that's the idea behind matching the greys, which I hope was matched for every viewer.

Don't really like the grey space. Couldn't you just make the image round? :D

That is a great macro shot. Hope you win a ribbon, although I think you face some harsh critics as far as the circular frame goes. 10

I just wonder why you did this. Why not leave the rest of the eye.

This is very cool! The round crop was a good idea. I hope you didn't poke somebody in the eye. :)

This "floating" iris is a bit eerie in my opinion. Now, if it were red and slightly elongated, I'd say you have Sauron's eye from LOTR! Nice job capturing the colors and fine details and focus is excellent. Minor compression.

Centered - you bet! The micrometer gang will go crazy. Very nice presentation with a lot of mystery.

technically, quite an impressive shot. It loses some of the effect, I think, when the eye isn't connected to a person. But it's very eerie and impressive still!

Very interesting shot and nice pinstriped ring. I need a little more interest, focus or contrast to make me want to look. Focus too fuzzy for me for this purpose; reminds me of any x-ray.
