Voted earlier coming back to leave comments. Very true, children are a joy and a gem...even when they test our patience;-) Very lovely portrait of your son. You caught some great catch lights in those big brown eyes. Lighting and skin tones in this color portrait are great too! I do have a critique (picky, picky right;-) ) and that is with any great portrait one never caps off the top of the head - unless your composition just has the face fill the frame. Nonetheless this is a great shot of this happy smiling child.

The crop works very well and you've got good catch lights in the eyes. The use of a reflector on the left may have helped with the shadows on that side.

I like the shallow depth of field, but the main point of focus seems to be more on his nose than his eyes. Also, the crop adds an unnecessary anxiety to the frame being so tight on his head and chopping off his fingers. Great start, but I'd like to see this one with better execution.
