A nice and new take of the DPC favourites of water and wine glasses. This is the best of type in this challenge. Reflection is great.

I'm wondering how you achieved this, it's like magic !
The blue liquid works very well.
03/17/2009 08:41:32 PM
This is interesting.
03/17/2009 04:18:45 PM
Fantastic - how did you do it?
03/17/2009 04:04:44 PM
I would love to see a pull back of this shot - you must make big messes
03/17/2009 10:10:01 AM
Cool color, I wonder what the liquid is? It's a great motion/liquid shot. Must have been hard to set up/capture.
03/17/2009 08:55:57 AM
Amazing action and timing to get this right! I almost can see your signature here. Excellent!

Just wondering if that's a shot glass. Great capture.
03/16/2009 11:09:58 PM
great shot! reminds me of my fav shot by kiwiness
03/16/2009 10:59:08 PM
It seems like this is a really great capture that's been harmed by PP. *sorry*

Still good... but could be much better with better PP.
03/16/2009 10:46:11 PM
"Of course, we're still equally screwed" said one fish to the other. This picture fractures me.
03/16/2009 08:53:17 PM
clever
03/16/2009 07:11:22 PM
Dramatic image
03/16/2009 03:04:54 PM
Nice capture. How many glasses were broken for this shot?
03/16/2009 02:36:04 PM
Nicely done! So how many wine glass did you go through to get this shot?
03/16/2009 01:11:23 PM
New twist on an old classic! Very cool! 9
03/16/2009 12:51:01 PM

03/16/2009 04:12:03 AM
neat shot
03/15/2009 11:45:03 PM
executed well.
03/15/2009 11:26:57 PM
Cool motion shot, the purpleish color along the bottom is a little strange though.
03/15/2009 10:17:23 PM
I wish I was able to captue liquid spilling so well my kids are good at it though
03/15/2009 09:36:53 PM
very cool (blue)
03/15/2009 09:10:23 PM
Great impact! Will be interested to know how you broke the glass.
03/15/2009 07:30:56 PM
Very Cool
03/15/2009 07:17:18 PM
A great take on the colored water in the wine glass shot. A great concept well captured.
03/15/2009 05:29:53 PM
I hope this one didn't afford too many takes! Great capture.
03/15/2009 05:07:07 PM
Excellent shot, I hope you share how you did it!! Congratulations!
03/15/2009 03:45:33 PM
These shots always amaze me! I wonder how many you had to take before getting the one you liked. Nice colors, composition, reflections and lighting.
03/15/2009 03:28:37 PM
Like the contrast in light and colours.. and of course the motion..
03/15/2009 02:11:40 PM
I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... out of (currently) 1120 images, I gave 98 of them an 8. Your image was one of those 98, placing you well within the top 10% for this challenge.

When I saw this image I immediately thought of that bloke who sets coloured gelatin in glasses and the photographs them at quirky angles (my lack of decent searching skills means their name escapes me), and also of danderson107's "Inner Peace" photo which is of blue liquid in a broken glass. I'm actually at a los to figure out how you set this photo up, so I'll be interested to read your comments after the challenge. It's that intrigue that keeps bringing me back to this image.

Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge.
03/15/2009 02:02:58 PM
Very cool shot! I do think you could brighten up the highlights quite a bit without losing anything. Makes me wonder how you did it...
03/15/2009 10:11:04 AM
That's pretty cool!
03/15/2009 09:39:34 AM
What a great capture. Looking forward to the 'how i did i' article too. A really great shot. Well done and good luck for the rest of the challenge.
03/15/2009 07:16:30 AM

Wow! Would love to hear how this one was done...Irene? 10
03/15/2009 01:12:59 AM
Great capture! I would love to see the out-take with the full reflection also.
03/14/2009 11:29:52 PM
Nice timing and I like the reflection. Excellent lighting. I think it would be better if you had more wine colored fluid or adjusted it that way in post processing.
03/14/2009 10:25:21 PM
this is a well executed shot.
03/14/2009 09:26:15 PM
excellent capture, well lighted too, 8
03/14/2009 08:30:24 PM
Wow, very clever, I'm looking forward to reading how this was done. The only thing I would say is the photo could be sharper, but excellent. Best of luck.
03/14/2009 06:46:36 PM
A nice change of pace from the usual splash shot. Wonder how many glasses you broke to get this.
03/14/2009 04:53:32 PM
Cleverly done
03/14/2009 11:41:19 AM
Nicely captured time/motion stop shot. Nice processing too. 8
03/14/2009 10:43:31 AM
talk about catching the moment...no redo's with this one...excellent focus
03/14/2009 09:44:35 AM
Very cool timing, I will be curious to see how you accomplished the shot. Nice coloring.
03/14/2009 08:35:26 AM
How many times did you have to break a glass to get this? I like the blue colors & the splashes.
03/14/2009 06:27:18 AM
Wow - Excellent Photo. You must have been very happy with this.
03/14/2009 05:49:46 AM
could be a bit sharper
03/13/2009 11:39:48 PM
way over shar and over exposed for my taste
03/13/2009 09:29:26 PM
very nice
03/13/2009 06:31:48 PM
Clever combination of splash shot + wineglass.
03/13/2009 06:30:06 PM
Excellent stop motion, but it seems a little bit out of focus. The play with light is excellent.
03/13/2009 04:34:03 PM
You've either fooled me, or your shutter timing is superb. Great photo.
03/13/2009 04:13:08 PM
Cool shot, and a unique take on a wine glass shot. I dont say this often, but I find it to have a bit too much contrast. Still a nice photo though.
03/13/2009 02:07:47 PM
Good stop-action on this. Nice detail and color.
03/13/2009 12:35:10 PM
WOW, nice shot
03/13/2009 11:19:43 AM
great capture
03/13/2009 10:32:14 AM
Another perfectly good glass sacrificed in the name of photography ;-)
03/13/2009 08:44:53 AM
Great capture of the action and wondering how many glasses you used.
03/13/2009 03:35:25 AM
A classic DPC sort of shot, good lighting
03/13/2009 02:36:22 AM
Very cool. A tad oversharpened/overcontrast to my taste.
03/13/2009 12:08:41 AM
Wow! I imagine this to be a once and done type of shot. Wonderfully done. I think what I like best is how still the glass is in comparison to the movement of the liquid. Beautiful lighting and color, nice flow of the liquid.
03/12/2009 10:38:57 PM
Spill on Aisle 5! I'm trying to imagine how you did this one. Looks like you actually broke the glass just before snapping the shutter. I hope you include a description of how you did it.
03/12/2009 08:52:44 PM
very nice image i havent seen to many glass shots in this style, the water pouring out is pretty intristing in it self. Great photo
03/12/2009 06:59:26 PM
The spilled portion of this shot is breathtaking. Great transparency and color, incredible detail and movement. I feel that the liquid in the glass is too solid and murky by contrast. Incredible timing.
03/12/2009 05:44:42 PM
Very nice!
03/12/2009 04:00:36 PM
Great shot, a bit dark
03/12/2009 03:43:57 PM
awesome capture but me thinks these types of shots need to be tack sharp which this somehow doesnt
03/12/2009 02:54:39 PM
focus seems abit off to me
03/12/2009 01:58:10 PM
Excellent high speed shot. 10
03/12/2009 10:23:25 AM
Glad it was not good wine or beer!
03/12/2009 10:02:54 AM
nice reflection and splash, poor wine glass, good job with the lighting
03/12/2009 09:48:22 AM
I've seen this before, but it's just as nice to look at the 2nd time around.
03/12/2009 08:36:59 AM
Nice stop action! Good color and detail.
03/12/2009 01:42:35 AM
well, what a waste of a wine glass. I like the image, but a large part of my brain shouts "no wine glass photos!". I just want to see some originality.
03/12/2009 01:24:07 AM
I love the idea and would have voted it higher if the liquid was wine-coloured.
03/11/2009 11:39:41 PM
wonder how many glasses had to be broken to get this shot??? cool!
03/11/2009 08:42:08 PM
Great capture!
03/11/2009 06:04:14 PM
Ah yes, I remember when you started a thread or tutorial or (?) for this one. Excellent shot. 9 from me.
03/11/2009 02:05:29 PM
I love it. How many glasses did you go through to get this? A 10!
03/11/2009 12:34:12 PM
incredible capture..
03/11/2009 11:50:02 AM
Great capture, nice detail, technically very very well done!
03/11/2009 11:24:42 AM
Amazing shot obviously a one off capture unless you have lots of glass you don't want!
03/11/2009 10:29:32 AM
Congratulations on being part of this 1000th challenge on DPC. Keep up the good work!!
03/11/2009 10:16:34 AM
great composition, nice shot
03/11/2009 08:55:59 AM
Solid action shot. 7. Would have preferred a bit more sharpness on the glass rim and stem.
03/11/2009 08:44:40 AM
What a great different shot from the normal wine glass water shots, the lighting and the colour of the liquid really add to a great shot
03/11/2009 08:28:51 AM
Great idea and capture with superb clarity and lovely colours
03/11/2009 08:05:50 AM
amazing
03/11/2009 08:01:01 AM
Good shot. I hope you broke not to many glasses :-)
03/11/2009 05:30:29 AM
nice work! love the blue
03/11/2009 03:21:53 AM
Great timing, and very well lit.
03/11/2009 03:04:43 AM
Great moment capture, but lack of sharpness/clarity is disappointing.
03/11/2009 02:26:47 AM
Very very clever, technically brilliant. However I'm well over this type of photo. Sorry, still a 7 considering where I am.
03/11/2009 12:10:54 AM
Fantastic shot... instant fav...
