Spilling Salt - When salt was first being used it was considered a "sin" to spill it as it cost so much. It was therefore decreed that by throwing a pinch of salt over your shoulder you would blind the devil that may have been tempting you to spill the salt in the first place. I thought that a little bit of clover for luck couldn't hurt either. This, to me, was a difficult challenge, so, I went towards the 'artisitc' side. Thanks for any comments you may have.

Just to address a couple of things :O) The "interesting blue stripe" is salt. The shaker is translucent. I couldn't find a four leaf clover, didn't want to fake one, but I figured that it would pass either way, thank to those that left constuctive comments. I realize that there were several, 'salt' photos, and "Yeah" I am sure that there were not 10, however I guess you need to look at the differences betweent he photos not JUST the subject. I am satisfied with how well it did though!

Of all the salt pictures, this is my favourite. The colours and contrast are strong which adds impact. Needs to be one extra leaf on the clover though!

Since you covered almost a entire leave with salt, couldn't you have faked a fourth leave?

I like the use of afew strong colors.

Pity the salt is burned out...

Cute idea but unless I'm incorrect, a 4 leaf clover is good luck, not a 3 leaf. A 4 leaf you give it away and a 5 leaf, you keep. I actually have a 5 leaf clover. 5 for the challenge 10 for the photo quality makes a 7.5 over all score.

Wow... you definitely seperated yourself from the rest of the salt shots! :) I like the combination of the 2 superstitions... kind of a good/evil thing :) - JB

interesting blue stripe.

Perhaps. But it's not the three leaf clover that symbolizes luck. Otherwise, I like it.

I like this idea. Very cute. A nice juxtaposition.

Nice variation on the salt theme.

Visually interesting.

Very well executed, both the shot, and post-shot adjustments.

yeah! pinch of salt number 10!

Nice composition, salt is hard to shoot, reflects a lot of light so the center is a little washed out. Perhaps moving the light to cast a side angle would help give depth to the salt.

I love what the blue does for this photo ! It is a bit bright in some areas but I like it:)
