Action is good. Fire is over some.

Interesting commentary piece. Good color and contrast.
03/17/2009 01:37:31 PM
Scary! It looks so cool outside, it's raining or snowing or something and sooo hot inside, an inferno, great contrast.
03/17/2009 01:03:02 PM
Great documentary type image.
03/16/2009 09:09:19 PM
I hope you are not being killed on artistic composition and image quality with this, because it's not fair to rate photojournalism that way.
03/15/2009 04:08:23 PM
Hats off to you Men!
03/15/2009 12:23:28 PM
good documentary image
03/15/2009 11:42:45 AM
I like the candid nature of this photo. A little more post processing (not much) would have scored this a little higher
03/15/2009 05:13:54 AM
oh , strong moment... Id try bw....

cheers, brano ;)
03/15/2009 12:12:50 AM
Almost looks like my old house. Nice colors. Love the fire under the awning.
03/14/2009 11:07:12 PM
Good photojournalism, wish it were a bit more in focus. Straightening it up might help too.
03/14/2009 06:06:46 PM
nice action shot - try to rotate it a bit cw
03/14/2009 05:20:56 PM
Good action capture. I hope you were using a telephoto and weren't as close as it looks like!! Unless you are a fireman with a camera in the helmet, and that might be kinda cool. . . .
03/14/2009 05:12:40 PM
Great in your face action capture.
03/14/2009 01:32:11 PM
Fantastic shot, congratulations.
03/13/2009 11:58:05 PM
wow - that's pretty close - great journalism
03/13/2009 07:57:02 PM
Powerful. The fire is quite brilliant.
03/13/2009 07:33:44 PM
Cool shot - but nothing really seems to be sharp in focus - that's the only thing that I see that could have been better. everything has a slight blur to it.
03/13/2009 06:28:50 PM
excellent action action shot, and must have been tough to shoot as it must have been very hot. I would have liked to have seen the front of a mask, but I can also see how that is not possible. I am sure you will remember this shoot for a long time.
03/13/2009 04:30:16 PM
needs to be straightened, but a very interesting photo indeed
03/13/2009 04:15:47 PM
I really hope this wasnt your own house. As for the photo itself, its one of those shots that you cannot pose or manipulate to your liking, yet you captured the scene well. Nice shot.
03/13/2009 03:09:19 PM
Good capture! I could see this being used in the newspaper.
03/13/2009 01:40:13 PM
Whoa, hope they managed to put it out quickly
03/13/2009 12:25:30 PM
our heroes at work, nice capture
03/13/2009 05:59:10 AM
Very intense... the flames curling up into the outside roof adds an extra sense of urgency.
03/13/2009 04:23:08 AM
interesting how they have their names on their helmets .. i wonder if that's if a building collapses and they have to identify them .. its a great shot ... the interior of the house all aflame and the spray of water going in is brilliant .. great capture .. :)
03/13/2009 03:12:47 AM
Confronting image. Great editorial shot.
03/13/2009 01:03:51 AM

Good photojournalistic shot. Nedds some PP work. Maybe a different crop.
03/12/2009 11:30:36 AM
Wow, close to the action. That must be a scary job at times.

03/11/2009 11:20:06 PM
Terrific photojournalistism shot. Perhaps not something you would print out and put up on your wall however I could see this in a newspaper or a magazine.
03/11/2009 09:51:31 PM
Good capture. Very photo-journalistic feel to it.
03/11/2009 09:06:08 PM
Scary! I wish it were leveled up (porch seems to be leaning), but the fire is well captured.

Not voting yet.

Nice tribute to the brave souls who risk their lives daily to protect us. How did you ever get this close? It could be a long lens, but the 6.2mm in the EXIF data doesn't make sense to me.
03/11/2009 01:55:16 PM
Great action shot. Nice close up.
03/11/2009 11:02:30 AM
not to say this was a harmless situation, but there is no drama without visible faces. Looks more like a snap with a cellphone.
03/11/2009 10:34:14 AM
Wow this really puts you right in the action. I like that it is very natural lighting and not overly processed. It is just firefighting in its raw form.
03/11/2009 09:48:52 AM
great action shot
03/11/2009 07:16:06 AM
This looks so real. Well done.
03/11/2009 03:29:49 AM
maybe a wider angle with more detail would have looked great still has a lot of interest with the firefighters
