What's Pa taking a break from? Nicely executed portrait. Suffers a bit from some blown highlights here and there.

The highlights need to be toned down. They are a bit hot.

Black and White conversion on this photo is spot-on. Unfortunately I don't have the same emotional connection to this photo that you do, so the subject doesn't strike me as much. Excellent capture of this moment in time though.

toning is plus, just little overexposed in spots though

He looks like he's considering something important. Perhaps a tad more contrast would bring the details on this out a little more.

Even though this is more of a candid shot you captured alot of "him" if you know what I mean. Looking at this it's almost like I know him, he looks like a hard working guy, means well in all he does, likes helping people out. Great shot.

Nice, intimate portrait. I like the b/w. The two lines to the right of his head are a bit distracting, but I like how much detail was preserved on the shirt, even in the unlit side.

Nice pensive pose. It's a little blown out on parts of the skin and cap. Nice detail on the clothing and the background tells us a little about what Pa does.

lighting a little harsh, some details loss in the highlights. I always feel that for these type of shots , a little underexposure on the highlights portion would be good to retain detail, then use advanced processing to get detail out of the shadow areas. Tough but possible. Another alternative would be employing HDR
Also would have preferred and even more out of focus background (better bokeh)

Nicely captured candid moment. It seems goofy to focus on such a small detail, but I like how he's wearing his watch. It contributes a genuineness to the photo which I appreciate.

Quite the pensive look he has. While some people may have commented that parts of the images highlights are blown out, I dont mind them, and feel that it adds to the image.

Really nice capture. I reckon the light on the hands and hat is a little distracting, but I still like it. :D
