very nice photo you have here, i love the blueish tone!
the lighting and comp are well set. the photo has a little bit of noise but thats minor, i feel the dark edges draw you into the photo and adds a nice touch, nice work!

Not the most exciting subject but it does have nice dimples!

what else could it be? hmm

Great teal color. Takes a real individual to submit this - congrats.

This is so simple but I love the lighting and colors. Reminds me of the demonstration of the moon phases we used to do in classrooms.

Yep, you're definitely spot on. That is a golf ball.
03/16/2009 10:56:02 PM
Decent lighting on the shot... I would have preferred to have seen the brand name in the light side of the ball.

Sheer genius.

As genius as you can get for a 15 year old girl with a serious attitude, who thinks she knows everything about life and cheats at Pictionary.

If the lighting had been better and less noise I would have scored this higher

I'm not sure I like the lighting used here. Seems quite dark and blue-ish.

Yep, but a golf ball with cool lighting.

Ah, golf ball as moon? And moon -> cheese. Cheese is mold, from which penicillin comes (if my non-scientific education isn't failing me). Peniccilin comes in a shot, so ... tada, it's a golf shot!

Simple but nice. I like the light going from light to dark on the ball.

So it would seem. Your light levels are great.

an interesting choice as a hidden gem. It is a good study in directional lighting, but nothing else draws me in.

Is this golf ball setting on a tee...if so I wish I could see the top of the tee

Looks like one to me. I like your use of blues in this. Very simplistic. Nice sense of dark and light.

For some, the entire world :-) Like the planetary lighting for the ball, and how just a few of the craters have highlights.

Good lighting to bring out the texture on the golf ball.

I wish the brand was even less visible than it is. Good lighting. The image is a bit noisy which I don't think helps this image.

I love golf and will be shooting some golf pics soon. I like the pic but needs a better exposure. Too much grain in the background.

Lovely lighting, good focus, overall noisy but not in a disagreeable sort of way.

nice light, and simple product shot, but just a tiny bit too tight on the bottom....

Just a golf ball? I think not! It is really an evil plot to take men away from the loving embrace of their spouses on the weekends. Almost as insidious a plot as that "hobby" of photography.

I suspect it is indeed a golf ball. Or perhaps an alien life form disguised as one, as there appears to be a face forming there on the left....

Nice use of light. I wish the bottom wasn't cropped so tightly.

well.. yes it is.. and a question for you.. is this your best image? It's sort of "stockish" but there is a spot on the ball (this is advanced so it could be removed) and it has some grain. I like the idea of it - set up, lighting, tone but I think it could be a stronger image.

Love the lighting here and especially your shadows. The blue works well for me and I like the placement of the ball. A little noisy, but it doesn't bother me. I think if it had been run through Neat Image, you would have lost some detail. Nicely done!
