Interesting, unique scene. It looks like selective desaturation emphasizing the Beetle, but that may be how it was. There are several stories simultaneously happening here.

A super fly VW...fabulously strange...and the goat, gotta love the goat.
03/17/2009 12:20:25 PM
Nice use of sepia and color at the same time. Interesting street scene.
03/16/2009 10:51:29 PM
Wonderful juxtaposition. - bumping
03/16/2009 04:48:35 PM
One of the best images in this challenge.
It seems a little over-exposured but overall still looks very nice.
Good luck! (9)

A stray goat and bug!
03/15/2009 08:39:56 PM
really like the image and a little more foreground could help

I like the selective desat.
03/15/2009 06:02:25 PM
nice idea, looks like taken from a movie
03/15/2009 02:04:38 PM
Highlights are a little bright, but I like the color treatment.
03/15/2009 11:46:47 AM

A good slice of life, that green VW is pretty vibrant and cool.
03/14/2009 06:49:01 PM
love the part desat
03/14/2009 04:16:39 PM
Good use of selective desat
03/14/2009 04:06:22 PM
This is a photo that really seems to capture the character of a place. There's so much interesting contrast here: The car with the goat walking around, the green with the sepia tones, very nice.
03/14/2009 02:27:56 PM
Interesting. I'm not sure exactly what this photo is trying to say.. It is supposed to be the juxtiposition of the fancy green car to it's simple surroundings? Or just to illustrate an interesting place? I feel like I need to know more about this photo to fully appreciate it.
03/14/2009 11:58:43 AM
I love this image, a little reminder that life is different depending on where you live.
03/14/2009 10:27:51 AM
I like the sepia look and then there is this green bug in there. Nice work.
03/14/2009 09:47:39 AM
a very busy shot, you have lost some of the detail with the contrast
03/14/2009 09:18:53 AM
a nice depiction of the area, good use of tone/colour.
03/14/2009 07:22:44 AM
Really great tones & the contrast between car & goat is great
03/14/2009 02:27:18 AM
I like the old feeling look (and the goat) with the bright green color of the car.
03/13/2009 09:42:01 PM
The sparkly shiny car looks out of place in this sepia rustic neighborhood.
03/13/2009 08:56:28 PM
Good selective desat on the car, excellent street scene, very back country. 7
03/13/2009 03:15:10 PM
Nice shot, the contrast you managed withe the colors is great.
03/13/2009 02:40:39 PM
a bit too bright, would have liked to see a little more detail
03/13/2009 02:02:46 PM
One of my top 2, Hoping for editing tips..
03/13/2009 12:57:18 PM
Bleak
03/13/2009 12:37:29 PM
I really like the selective desat on this.
03/13/2009 11:21:08 AM
That green car really stands out against the rest of the scene.
03/13/2009 10:46:05 AM
interesting scene. nice contrast between the bling-bling car and rural life. perhaps more crop at the bottom would work here?
03/13/2009 02:28:55 AM
How can you not love a 4x4 bug and a goat facing off? That's great!
03/13/2009 01:24:25 AM
Cool shot, the vivid green is prefect.
03/13/2009 12:56:13 AM
The green VW makes the goat stand out even more. This is quite a nice everyday candid.
03/12/2009 08:37:21 PM
nice bug but what were they thinking green :)
03/12/2009 08:05:05 PM
There a lot of interesting subjects in your shot.
03/12/2009 07:52:52 PM
a very photohournalistic shot !!, I like the tones in the shot. Good luck , 6
03/12/2009 04:01:58 PM
The tricked up bug feels out of place. Adds interest to the photo.
03/12/2009 03:35:27 PM
Ah, I know I have seen this before, but can't quite recall whose it is. Still think it's delightful!
03/12/2009 02:51:07 PM
Very strong cultural statement, like the processing
03/12/2009 11:48:03 AM
great shot, a little too much contrast, just love the goat with he car.... great
03/12/2009 11:39:25 AM
There is so much going on here.
03/12/2009 10:45:48 AM
Neat shot. I love how the green stands out.
03/12/2009 01:42:08 AM
Dang, that's a tricked-out bug... :-)
03/12/2009 12:33:21 AM
Wtf happened to that Volkswagen?
03/11/2009 11:25:34 PM
interesting.. the green beetle makes the shot 7
03/11/2009 09:47:30 PM
I like the grittiness and the high contrast, I would see this in a photo album you find in stores.
03/11/2009 08:35:53 PM
A bit bright but a very compelling composition.
03/11/2009 08:03:14 PM
Very busy scene, yet I always seem to pick up on the goat in front of the green VW. Cograts on a great shot.
03/11/2009 07:05:05 PM
Well processed, nice shot. May have cropped a little tighter to exclude the blown out wall on the left and a little less of the road.
03/11/2009 06:41:51 PM
That is the fanciest beetle I have ever seen. Not to mention the goat with the lagest utters that I have ever seen. This photo is full of firsts for me!
03/11/2009 05:52:10 PM
This is one of those images that I hope people stop to let their eyes wander around in. I love in the almost anachronistic feel of the shiny new car parked in the middle of a very old street. The animal in front just makes the whole image. Also, I am generally not a fan of selective desat but here it just works - it doesn't bonk you on the head screaming "I'm the only thing in color" but just very nicely and quietly highlights the context. Very well done.
03/11/2009 05:50:41 PM
amusing vehicle!
03/11/2009 05:39:15 PM
Interesting juxtaposition between the car and the background. I like your use of selective color.
03/11/2009 04:49:09 PM
I love the contrast between a run-down looking street/market, and a completely pimped out VW Bug.
03/11/2009 11:26:08 AM
Color and a sence of spice in a world where things can be so dark. Like how by doing the color on the bug, it draws you too it. Then once you see it, the market allows my eyes to play. Great capture.
03/11/2009 10:18:05 AM
Slice of life shot. Good one.
03/11/2009 09:23:34 AM
The green of the car is really nice. Adds a lot to the picture.
03/11/2009 08:13:23 AM
Love the processing.
03/11/2009 07:05:34 AM
OH yeah! I think this is on my favorites already. Good choice!
03/11/2009 06:30:12 AM
Very interesting candid photo and excellent use of selective desat. Massive tonal range to the point where detail is lost on dark images like the two men in the left of the frame but the top of the building in the centre of the frame is almost blown. Great story, I looked at this for ages, best of luck.
03/11/2009 04:32:07 AM
Nothing like a pimped out Beetle and goat!! Such contrast in the street vs. the car!
