Maybe it's because I have two daughters - one a brunette and the other a blond - but something about this photo draws me in. I can only imagine what they were whispering about and the giggles that probably followed. :)

I'm not normally a fan of this current style of processing but here it works.

This is very interesting. Your processing makes the girls look almost as metallic as the old car.

Oh the joys of childhood. The angle is perfect, it tells a story without seeing the faces. The writing in the dust is just an added bonus

very pleasing light and duotone edit. i'm really curious what are they looking at! i would just crop the bottom part, it's distracting.

The details on the girls are great. I think the title is fitting as well.

Nice photo, but a bit too smooth for my taste. I like to see skin texture on skin.

This one really hits the spot with me. I'm a sucker for expressive portraits-without-faces, and this one fits the bill nicely. I'd nit-pick and ask why on earth you framed out the completion of the curve at the bottom of the vent window, but it's just a nit... Good one!

I love the nostalgia of this photo. It is far from perfect in some technical aspects but you know what, I don't care. It speaks to me.

now what is this pair up to? curiosity plus, great image
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/12/2009 06:34:03 AM
Very unique photo. But what are they curious about? There seems to be too little in the way of subject matter to really tell. Are they on a carnival ride? In a car? I honestly can't tell much about what's going on in this photo, which is too bad, because technically it is very well done.

03/12/2009 12:30:36 AM
the crop is a little tight, but the sepia? conversion is great.

the letters on the bottom distract me but I love the top 3/4 of the image

This has a great feel to it, and I love the processing. I think a tighter crop would've made a better impact, the letters at the bottom are distracting.

I recognize this! I think I faved a very similar picture where the girls were looking AT the camera? I think? I'll have to go back through my faves and look. this is precious! Processing has a dream like quality to it.

03/11/2009 08:10:29 PM
Nice, but their faces would be so much more appealing than the back of their heads.

Nice detail but I find it a bit busy.

03/11/2009 06:32:12 PM
I really like this. I don't need to see their faces to know what's going on. My friends and I used to play in the car and pretend it was a space ship.
Lovely processing, the tones are wonderful.

This is adorable. Little girls checking out the vehicle. I like how candid it is and the use of duotones.
03/11/2009 04:28:17 PM
I like your post processing on this image.
03/11/2009 03:05:22 PM
Fantastic image! The title is perfect (I had to scrol down to see what you named it). The focus is so sharp, it hurts my eyes. :) Well done.
03/11/2009 02:33:51 PM
Looks like a story. Nice framing.
03/11/2009 02:07:14 PM
Wonderful tone, looks like a friendship card you would see in the store. Very nice job.
03/11/2009 11:18:48 AM
I like the sepia toning. and the processis cool. What are they looking at?
03/11/2009 11:08:32 AM
I don't see it. A visible part of a face had helped here. good b/w conversion and toning, too much softening for my taste
03/11/2009 10:16:51 AM
I would have leveled that car window sill but the editing here is nice and so is the story.

03/11/2009 01:40:56 AM
interesting. At first I thought the title referred to the children being curious about whatever they are looking at. Then I realized it also applies to the viewer being curious about what the girls could be so curious about...

Nicely put together photo. Great tonality.

Amazing focus here but on the flip side, it's the softness that grabs me. Your textures are spot on IMO and love the tones you chose for this. Lastly, I like how you choose the back of their heads verses a frontal shot. Beautiful image. 9
