My score is tanking, but Enzo mistook me for IreneM! My DPC life is complete!

[Mar. 23rd, 2009 05:34:58 PM]

Yes I know that this is tractor feed paper and it's used in more than just Dot Matrix Printers. I'm just a bit of a stickler for titles, and I didn't like the sound of tractor feed paper, and seeing as the image is a bit abstract I was trying to make sure that the maximum number of voters understood what the image depicted. Right up till rollover the image was just titled "Dot Matrix", but then one of my teammates in the DPC Olympics said that she didn't know what a Dot Matrix was, so I added Paper to the title.

As for the subject, I was cleaning out my parents' house because my terminally ill grandmother has moved in - I knew I'd find something forgotten amongst all their junk - and I decided on the paper. This image was really inspired by IreneM's image . It's not a pinch on hers, but the fact that Enzo Hotpasta mistook me for her really made my day :)

Simple but pleasant shapes. Nice use of something so ordinary - 7.

Liked the layered, swooping look.

Aside: I'm sure you're aware that computer paper was used in other machines besides the dot matrix printer.

You know, this an absolutely beautiful shot - I wish it retained some of the yuckiness that was dot matrix paper. This is almost too pristine for me. 8 nonetheless, but maybe more if there was some of that printing on it...

The paper did not care if the printhead was dot matrix or otherwise, but this is tractor feed paper! Nice use of light and dark to center attention on the subject!
