 Hadn't planned on entering this challenge - I couldn't think of anything that represented "language". But I went on an exercise hike in Griffith Park without my camera, just my phone... I originally uploaded the phone shot, but decided to go back and take my camera. Two hikes in one day! Never worked so hard for one shot.

This graffiti is on a giant water tank. I really wanted a gritty look. Here's the original phone camera shot:

I actually like the composition and the sharpness of this, unfortunately this stuff doesn't play well on DPC

I like the lighting on rivets. Nice.

The glare of light in the top right hand corner of this shot draws attention. The lines of rivets lead you through the photo, but not to the subject. Having the most obvious words above the rivet join would ahve helped emphasise it as the subject
