I really like the effect. I would've cropped more off the left and bottom, to emphasize the person looking into the distance. |

I think this is one of your best portrait photos. And that's saying alot since you have so many phenomenal photos. The light is so dramatic and beautiful. Congratulations on jumping back in and showing up on the front page :)

It's a hard subject challenge and this reviewer is having just as hard of a time properly rating images in the challenge. The meet a creative lighting challenge, it is necessary to approach the subject matter in a unique fashion and this image accomplishes that nicely. The subtle tones and transition from light to dark is simply stunning demonstrating the proper use of lighting in a creative way that many others have failed to grasp. Sure to be a sure top ten image - it's spectacular, well controlled and very dramatic which if all was right in the world, would make it a ribbon winner. |

Great shot, the sort of lighting I love using on portraits / portfolio images - love the negative space and the mystery caused by not seeing her eye.

Excellent. The digaonal line of the shadow/light is fantastic. Looks like an Amish child (although I know it's not). Brilliant. |

Fabulous! This is mastery of lighting. I would have cropped just a bit of the negative space, but it is nicely balanced. |
