My grandson and I had a lot of fun on this shoot. He helped me make the hobo bag and it was nice going to the river to get the stick together. He was happy to wear PaPas hat to. He loves to model and he is very good at giving me a fierce pose! hahaha. Yeh the shadows suck especially under his eyes but it was the only time of day I could get this shoot in. We did this on Easter Sunday.

Rule of THirds....I like it. THough there are some over exposed areas, this is a nice photo monochromatic color helps very much and I like the shadow around the eyes helps emphasize the mood of the subject. Well done.

As I have also commented elsewhere on another image I like that you have introduced a human element to the harsh inanimate railway line. After so many similar pictures it is refreshing to see a story beingh told within the context of a photo that fully meets the challenge too. Lovely photo too, I love the little guys expression and the post processing adds to the pic as well.

Nice shot, the top and right side of the photo need to be croped a little IMO.

Good one, I like the toning too.
The midday (?) light is perhaps a bit harsh.

good shot and cute, but just too contrived and L'il Rascal-inspired

Has a 30s hobo feel to it...except for the velcro tennis shoes. Ha! Very nice.

An excellant example of composition, this image evokes an earlier time and place. A good solid conversion which could have used a little more difference in contrast between tones and slightly more control on brightness. Despite some minor issues, this image is a technical success and a highly effective artistic success. Well done.

PS: While the clothes and hat evoke an earlier time and feel, the velcro strapped tennis shoes are an anachronism. :>) Yeah, it's picky. :>)

very nice...trying to figure out if it's sepia or B&W. Think it's sepia and it fits very well...7

I would've liked to see more of (closer view) the "runaway's" expression, but otherwise good composition.

Simply adorable, great costume. I'm not generally a fan of tracks/roads/sidewalks starting at the bottom and going straight into the distance. I think a shot with the tracks going at an angle from one of the bottom corners back would help the eye travel better and make it seem more like the boy is travelling into the future rather than being so stagnant.
