When I was little, I had a recurring nightmare about tree people coming after me, and my grandmother hiding me and my cousin to keep us safe. Years, later, I could tell what the dream "meant" based on what was happening in our young lives. The scariness of the tree people never left though.
The other dream I've had a lot is that I am running through the woods trying to escape "something" -- the trees and surrounding always look so distorted and blurry, and I can't seem to get my feet to move.
My other nightmares deal with swimming at high tide (though I'm no where near the ocean), driving on a flooded road (no floods) and needing to use the bathroom but not finding one with any privacy (ain't no way).
shot with my rebel without a lens. :)
PP -- contrast, saturation adjustments, resized, eliminated some of the sensor krap.
Ain't nothing even remotely technically "right" or "pretty" about this shot -- it is everything that dpc is not -- grainy, unfocused, dull colors, no composition.
But, it looks just like my dream.
I predict a 3.2, my new personal worst, and quite possibly another brown ribbon to add to my collection.
Oh yea. If anyone comments that I need to clean my sensor, I cloned out a LOT of the sensor krap already. :P My patience only goes so far. |

Beautifully nightmarish. You should add your lens as "custom pinhole" so it shows up on the wall of fame. |

I only have nightmares when I forget to take my meds. I'll remember to take them tonight! |

Posthumous ribbon? Oh Karma, I am most terribly sorry. I'd like to be able to tell you it will work out for the best, but alas, I'm afraid this is almost invariably fatal. May I suggest that you say your goodbyes to any remaining 'straight' photography friends you may have now, before the symptoms become too advanced? It's normally a very rapid spiral into the abyss from this point. And once again, please accept my deepest, deepest sympathies. |

Great job, Karma! Congratulations on the ribbon. As Don remarked, this really looks like a nightmare.

Congrats on the Posthumous! And a very wonderful use of no lens! VERY well suited to the challenge and I love the lensless flare/chromic aberation thing going on here. Very cool! |

Great job, the effect is perfect, and I connected with the concept. I scored this well. I was surprised to find it "down here". |

was a 7 from me - very blair witch and the nightmare feeling is well conveyed. |

I looked at this as someone paralyzed with fear and starting to black out. So it's interesting to read your interpretation of this. Love the rainbows - I'm gonna have to try this without a lens kind of shooting. |

this one is perhaps the most like an actual nightmare. I give this a Posthumous Yellow Ribbon.

Awesome pinhole shot. I love the way the sun makes those trippy rainbows. Amazingly, the sensor dust spots actually seem to complement this shot! The shot itself doesn't really feel nightmarish to me, but it certainly has a surreal and dreamlike feel. So, close enough. :) |

Very effective treatment that matches the title - something of nightmares past. |
