 A gentleman at the Ottawa International Airport, sitting in a rather unusual downstairs lounge/art gallery! He was on the same flight as me, which got cancelled due to mechanical problems. We were on the same flight, which finally took off three hours late. He's waiting for his wife to return. I liked the sense of unease created partly by his expression and also the jarring, vivid colours of the paintings.

Gaaaahh! Somebody get me out of here! The pictures are climbing off the walls! Gaaaahh!

Didn't you read the bit in the handbook where it says that candids are supposed to be sombre meditations on - er - sombre meditations?

Just another promising candidate standing in the wrong line.

I thought this was cool. I liked how an everyday kind of guy was sitting in a brightly decorated kind of setting. And it had some awkwardness to it, with him sitting in an odd position - like he was out of balance with the artwork on the wall. Interesting find.

The sense of "moment" is present in this image and the obvious character being captured carries some visual impact. Technically, it's a very well composed image which is a plus. From an artistic standpoint, it lacks impact. A worthy entry into the challenge just lacking that something special to make it stand out.

If this is really unposed, I totally love it for the category. but I love the picture, period. I just wish it the painting in the middle were straight.
