I really, really like this. It's very much out of the DPC box and I hope you're not getting slammed for that but even if you are, take heart. This is a beautiful, evocative image. I can almost hear their whirring wings. |

Oh my...I just love this one! Well done!
Edit: I placed 8 in the score, but actually gave a 9. Sorry for the typo. |

Different, the motion is particularly well managed and the image very elegant.
Not sure everyone will like it, but for me it's a 9. |

I like this image for the abstract quality. Nice use of slow shutter to blur the birds to show motion, but what I like is that the background is totally blurred, giving that abstract feel. Nice job. |

terrific alternative style. If the mainstream competition wasn't so strong, this might finish really high.
(It still could, of course) |

Abstract in it's execution, there are two ways to view this image - negatively in the sense that it's undetailed and in no way, from a strict interpretation standpoint, indicates motion or the effects of motion. On the other hand, it's very abstract nature is indicative of motion and the colors and motion blue give it a certain feel, as it related to the challenge subject, that is a plus. In this kind of quandry, and given this reviewer's propensity to positively rate abstract images, the benefit of the doubt goes to the author. The blend of color and background are complimentary which is an artistic plus and can be viewed as a technical plus. Not necessarily to everyone's taste, this might break into the top twenty and possibly the top fifteen images if the commenters and reviewers give it chance by understanding the nature of impressionist imagery. |
