Crop, curves, levels, resize, sharpen.
I wanted to try my hand at water drop shots, sorry for the cliché.
-Filled a casserole dish to the rim with water, and put that on a cookie sheet so as not to mess up the dining room table.
-Black sheet on the wall.
-Stuck a print of a flag upside-down on a binder on the table behind the dish, so it was easy to adjust its position.
-Pointed two flashes at the flag, behind and to the sides of the dish, to illuminate the heck out of it. Each set at 1/16 power as slaves.
-Suspended a zip lock baggy of water about four feet above the dish and poked a hole in it with a pin.
-Camera on tripod, auto-focused on a pencil held where the drops were hitting, then turned off auto-focus.
-Popped up on-camera flash and put some tinfoil on it so it wouldn't hit the dish, but would hit one of my flashes to trigger it.
-Manual setting as below.
-Fired away.
I'll upload my other shots to a folder when I have a chance, some pretty neat ones. |
