At the going down of the sun, and in the Morning, we will remember them.

This is the Shrine of Rememberance in Melbourne, built to remember those who gave their life in WWI. It was then expanded after WWII. Australia was a young country when WWI occurred, and had a large number of casualties compared to its population.
For those who don't know Melbourne, the Shine is visible from the city CBD straight down the main road.

The photo was taken at the end of the day, when the soldier takes down the Australian Flag while the Last Post is playing. This occurs nightly.

PP in CS2
Contrast/Saturation/Dodge and Burn elements, Crop and slight rotation to make the flag poles straight, Save for Web and Sharpen..........

Howdy from the Critique Club!

My first impression was along the line's of mikasi's comment.. the lines do seem slightly soft. You mention that you sharpened, but I might consider pushing it just a little more. Other than that, I definitely like the fact that you waited until the golden light was illuminating the building and the flag was being lowered.

I think to strengthen the photo as is, I would consider cropping it in a little further on the left, so that the flag poles frame the last side of the image. Other than that, the only other thing that immediately comes to mind is that the colors could potentially be pushed a bit further. I sense that maybe you're trying to avoid unnatural looking colors and sharpness, but I think you still have some leeway in that department.

Hope this helped,
Brian
