Imagine my delight upon returning from a trip to Yellowstone to find that the new challenge was Geology! I grinned about it for a bit, promptly forgot for several days, then I realized it was Tuesday an hour before the deadline. Took me longer than I expected to pick a photo so the only editing was adjusting the exposure and clarity. I completely agree about the position of the trees; I didn't really like it to begin with and it bothered me even more after I submitted. Unfortunately since it was misty and rainy most of my other photos aren't as clear, though I still question if I should have picked another. Or guess I will have to go back there for more! It really is a breathtaking spot though (as well as the rest of the area), definitely make it there someday if you haven't been.

A very different photo compared to the blue skys that others have submitted, and as a result, this stands out a bit from the crowd. Extra space to the left and right, bringing the trees off the edge of the photo, and even a landscape crop would have made a really stunning shot.......The trees at the moment seem more of a hinderance, when with more surrounding space, they could have been great elements to the shot

Wonderful scene. The only nitpick I might have is the way you composed it with the two trees right at the edge of the frame.

Fantastic subjects and colors. Next time, I would choose just one of the trees to be part of the overall composition as the two really detract from those beautiful amber hues.

The lighting and muted colours make this image special. I'm not sure about the positioning of the trees but the rest of the image makes up for this imperfection.

Very cool shot. I will be checking after the challenge to see where you shot this... I wouldnt mind spending a day or two there myself.
